Gionee F5 smartphone with 5.3-inch display, 4,000mAh battery certified

NEW DELHI: Gionee is apparently working on a new mid-range smartphone. Likely to be called F5, the handset recently passed through telecom equipment certification agency TENAA in China.
The TENAA listing reveals some key specifications of the unannounced smartphone. According to the listing, the Gionee F5 will likely have a 5.3-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. It’ll be powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, further expandable up to 128GB via microSD cards.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo UI baked on top, the dual-SIM Gionee F5 is expected to sport a 13MP rear camera (with LED flash) and an 8MP front-facing snapper for selfies.
Expected to pack a 4,000mAh battery, the Gionee F5 will support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C as major connectivity options. It’s expected to come in White, Gold and Rose Gold colour variants.
Gionee recently launched its P7 Max smartphone in India. Priced at Rs 13,999, the dual-SIM handset has a 5.5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. It’s powered by a 2.2GHz MediaTek MT6595 octa-core CPU paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD cards of up to 128GB.
On the camera front, the Gionee P7 Max has a 13MP rear camera (with LED flash) and a 5MP front-facing camera. A 3,100mAh battery rounds off the spec sheet.
Other software-based features of the P7 Max include auto call recording, mobile anti-theft software, compass, smart gestures (pause alarm, black screen gesture, smart vibration reminder, smart bright screen, double click to wakeup), mood wallpapers and child mode, among others.
